Give the gift of ADVENTURES this year!

If you are anything like our family we tell everyone not to get us more stuff, and if they want to get us things, experiences are the way to go!

We have gift cards for specific tours that can be scheduled later, or dollar values for kayak rentals, or gear

  • Several gray seals resting on a rock by the sea.

    Seals and Birding

The Dry Salvages are a small outcropping of rocks about 2.5 miles off the coast of Rockport. We take experienced paddlers there on tours and frequently see seals and unique birds in the area.

  • A crane barge labeled "Derrick Wrecking Co" lifting a large stone block onto a stone dock with tugboat assistance.

    History and Shipwrecks

This area was once planned to be the 2nd largest deep water harbor in the world, home for US Naval vessels and other traveling frigates. Learn why it failed, and see the sites of several shipwrecks in the area.

  • Silhouette of person kayaking on shimmering water with distant lighthouses in the background.

    Island Tours

Straitsmouth Island (1 mile paddle) and Thacher island (2.5 mile paddle) are open to the public (for a fee) and have beautiful trails, light houses, and are important breeding grounds for many species of birds. Combine a paddle and a hike and see what life might be like as a light keeper.

  • Man kayaking in yellow kayak near harbor with red Motif #1 building and fishing boats in Rockport Harbor

    Coastal Paddle Kayak or SUP

Not quite ready for a big adventure, or want to try our stand up paddle boards (SUPs)? This is the trip for you, come see the coastline from the perspective of the water. See what the view is like for the rich and famous, play in the waves, spot some birds, and have a chill paddle with no where to go and no where to be!

  • Aerial view of a coastal area with two lighthouses and buildings surrounded by greenery and ocean. Thacher island is next to Milk Island

    Thacher Island Camping

A guided paddle to Thacher Island that includes an overnight camping experience on the island's campground! Our guides will lead you there and stay overnight with you or not, as you wish. This trip is great for Scout or school groups, as well as any group of friends or family who want to sleep with the seagulls under the stars! See the Camping on Thacher Island page for more details. This trip is by request, not on a daily scheduled basis (4 people minimum). More info

  • Silhouette of a person kayaking on calm water during a golden sunset.

    Evening tour

We can’t guarantee a beautiful sunset (depends on the time of year obviously). But the evening is always a little cooler and there is a lot less boat traffic to play frogger around! Come join us for a peaceful evening paddle!

As expected all tours are subject to change or cancellation based on weather, staffing, and other unexpected issues. Timing is flexible in the early/late season (April, May, Sept, Oct), but less flexible during peak (June, July, Aug.). Island access fees are included in the tour price. Large group (10+), veterans, and senior discounts are available upon request. Daily tours only run if we have a 2 adult customers minimum signed up, camping tours with 4 people minimum. We have a $10/person 24 hr cancellation policy, so if you need to cancel let us know with at least 1 day notice please.
